Yesterday I mentioned that I recently (okay yesterday) started Daily Burn Inferno, a new 21 Day program from Daily Burn.
I’m Daily Burn’s #2 fan (Maddie and I tie for first place), so I was excited when my favorite trainer Anja came out with a new plan to kick my booty into beach shape.
Yes, you heard that correctly…in 40 days, this Mexican oasis will be my residence-
And these lovely ladies will be my housemates.
FOR ONE GLORIOUS WEEK.
So in order to get everything “right and tight”, I’m letting Anja kick my butt for half an hour a day for 21 days. I picked Inferno for a few reasons-
- The workouts are short, but intense, so I’ll still have time to study for my personal trainer exam (which I’m taking the day before I leave for vacation)
- I love circuits and plyo and all of the workouts (except recovery)
- Instead of me making a workout plan, Daily Burn gives me a workout video to do each day (including recovery!)
- I tend to do better when I have a plan. I did Making the Cut and it was pretty successful!
There’s also a nutrition plan that I’m using as a guide, but not following strictly since certain elements of it aren’t right for me (more on that later!). I’ll post photo updates like I did when I was doing Making the Cut, so stay tuned!

i’ll have to go check out your making the cut review, I’m on the hunt for the right plan for me at the moment
Hi Amanda! First off-sorry for all of the weird URLs-just wanted to make sure you had all of the links! Anyway, I loved doing Making the Cut because it got me lifting heavier, didn’t take up too much time (the workouts are circuit based and move quickly), the workouts were challenging and definitely yielded results. Oh, and I also love Jillian
What I didn’t like is that I had to go to the gym to do the workouts (I’m more of an at-home workout person) and since the workouts/workout descriptions are in a book, I either had to type out all of the routines (along with some silly illustrations of what new to me exercises looked like) or bring the book with me onto the gym floor. It would be so much better if there were a mobile app so users could take it on the go. I also didn’t follow the diet plan because it was really restrictive and I didn’t think that was a great choice for me. To Jillian’s credit, she does say that the diet should only be followed during the plan and isn’t a sustainable way of eating.
Anyway, I’ve also flipped through New Rules of Lifting for Women (NROLFW) , which I’ve heard great things about. If you’re interested you should check out Meghann’s review. She completed all seven stages last year and initially piqued my interest in the program. The only reason I chose to do MTC instead is because NROLFW was strictly weightlifting based (no cardio intervals), which I knew would be hard for a circuit lover like me. Anyway, there are my two cents-let me know what you end up doing!
Beach paradise sounds like a great reason to do that workout!
