As I’ve said before, I have an intense fear of failure (you can read about that here), probably due to the fact that with my Type A personality comes a high instance of risk aversion. Although this trait is particularly beneficial in instances where I might put myself in legitimate danger, it has also held me back from pursuing daunting goals. As I
recklessly fly inch closer to 27, I have started to become a bit more comfortable with the idea of failure (only a bit though, I don’t want to get too up close and personal with the concept) and am trying to put myself out there more. I’ve finally started to understand that the hundreds of adages are true-the only failure is not to try.

After two years of putting it off (no, really), I finally enrolled to take my personal training exam. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for so long, but the thought of failing the exam kept getting in my way.
But now the dues have been paid, the exam materials purchased, study schedule created and the date has been set (March 16!). So it’s happening…for real this time.
Even though I’ve never seen Star Wars, I think Yoda had it right.
