Silent Disco and a Sunday with Bob Harper

First off. This happened.

Shh… It’s a silent disco

On Saturday night a few friends and I went to a birthday party where the theme was Silent Dicso, which is when everyone gets a set of headphones that are all blasting the same music. It’s a little weird, because you walk in and everyone is like this-

But once, you get a set of headphones, things get real and you end up like this-

It’s time to bust a (silent) move.

If you ever get the opportunity to silent disco, do it!

On to more fitness-y things!

On Friday, I had a ragin’ night hanging out at the Target and picked up a Bob Harper 4 DVD set for a steal.

He’s coming for you. No really. He is.

On Sunday morning, I went to the pain cave with Bob. I decided to try out the Ultimate Cardio Body which promised to “drive muscles forward as they race against your flying heart rate”. And that they did.

The abused and the abuser.

This. Was. Hard.

If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that I’m a huge Jillian fan and since Bob is Jillian’s partner in crime, I thought “I’ve got this” when I started the DVD. Within minutes of the alternating lunge, split lunge, bicep curl, push up, high knees combo (yes, that happened), I knew I was wrong.

This was a great full body workout, but Bob was not messing around. By alternating upper, lower and full body move, Bob got my heart rate pumping. Even one of his backup work-outers Joe, who I should mention is now a Daily Burn crew member, kept stopping for breathers.

And if you think I’m over-exaggerating, let’s zoom back in on the photo above and focus on the name of one of the exercises, which I think highlights the hardcore nature of this DVD-

Yes, you read that correctly.

Ass Burners. There was an exercise called the ass burner. And burned my ass it did.

If you’re looking for an intense at home workout that only requires two dumbbells (I started out with a 10 pounder and promptly dropped down to a 5 pounder), then this is for you.

So there’s workout number one of the set…I wonder what the other seven workouts have in store. Stay tuned.
