I’m always picking up great ideas from all of the blogs I read. Each week, Tina over at Carrots ‘n Cake posts her meal plan for the week. She does a great job laying out all of the ingredients she’ll need as well as her meals for each day. Although meal planning seems simple, it’s easier said than done. I try to at least make a grocery list every week, but sometimes end up running through the Whole Foods and grabbing random things, half of which go bad.
In an effort to save some money, I FINALLY decided to try out Tina’s meal plan idea.
And it went really well!
Here’s how I did it.
Because I’m mildly anal and my work life revolves around spreadsheets and therefore my life must revolve around them too, I made a spreadsheet of each day’s meal (hyperlinked of course!), along with ingredients and a shopping list.

This is my life.

After surfing the web and getting some input from my friend, Cristina, I decided to out some new recipes, making sure to reuse ingredients and eat leftovers at different meals. I made the following, putting my own spin on each.
Tempeh Scramble

This was a great way to try out new recipes and moreover save some moolah. I’m going to try to make a meal plan for this week, so if you have any suggestions for great meals, please share your ideas below. I love meals that can be recycled (yes, I eat a lot of leftovers).
Do you meal plan?
