It’s been a while since the last installment of “Ask A Blogger” and I’m very excited that Bess, from Bess Be Fit agreed to be today’s special guest. Bess wears many different hats-she’s a social media professional, an ACSM certified personal trainer and a fitness blogger. She hails from North Carolina (where I spent my high school years) and currently lives in New Jersey (where I spent the first eight years of my life) so I feel like I know here already, J but read on to really get to know more about Bess, her blog and everything in between.

Any advice for those who want to start their own blog? 

Just dive right in!  Find something you are passionate about and just write about it!  Don’t try to fit in with other blogs, just do what makes you happy and what you enjoy.  I tend to write just as I am thinking…it’s easier for me that way.  But everyone will find his or her own style of writing.

What’s your favorite way to break a sweat?

Soccer!  But since I don’t play much anymore…running ☺

Aside from blogging and breaking a sweat, what do you like to do in your free time?

I like to hang out with my boyfriend, Mike, and dog, Maverick.  I love to go into NYC and to my family’s North Carolina beach house.  I like taking walks, napping, reading, going out to eat, and watching Bravo.  Yes, definitely guilty of watching the Real Housewives.

Do you have a mantra? This could be anything from a mantra that gets you through tough workouts to a mantra that gets you through tough life situations. 

This isn’t fitness specific, but when I was younger my mom always used to say  “This too shall pass” if I was ever struggling with something or having a hard time. And it’s true.  It always does.

What’s one food that you couldn’t live without?

Probably chocolate.  There’s just no substitute for it in my opinion!  But I’m also a huge fan of pizza and sushi!

Favorite song to work out to?

This constantly changes, but right now it’s probably “I Can Only Imagine” by David Guetta ft. Chris Brown or “Let’s Go” by Calvin Harris ft. Ne-Yo.

What are some of your favorite blogs? 

There are so many, but my daily reads are Peanut Butter Runner, Running off the Reese’s, Hungry Runner Girl, and JillFit.
