Although some people think I like to work out all day every day and that I get up at the crack of dawn to do so, that just isn’t true.
There are days (or weeks) when the alarm goes off, I hit snooze and roll over. This has been one of those weeks.
I guess the extra day in February tired me out, because I wasn’t feeling so hot when I arrived home yesterday after work. I sat on the couch fence about working out for about 30 minutes-I knew I would probably feel better afterwards, but I just didn’t feel like moving. Then I recalled fellow blogger Bess’ post about a similar situation, which pushed me on to the “just start moving” side of the fence.
I found an at home circuit from Women’s Health Magazine, adding in one minute of jump roping between exercises to get my heart rate up.
After 20 minutes, I was only one-third of the way through watching Slade Smiley humiliate himself (again) on the latest episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, but I was completely done with my circuit!
Lo and behold, I did feel better than when I started, so I decided to keep a good thing going and completed the Tone It Up “Sunset Circuit” twice and even got some Twitter cheerleading –
Done and done.
After my post work power-up, I continued with the Tone It Up theme and had peanut butter protein pancakes for dinner.
Moral of this story-Sometimes you just have to power up and power through-more often than not, it’s worth it. Also, alliteration is a blogger’s best friend.
